Brie Larson joins the Fast & Furious family for tenth movie

It looks like the family has got a bit bigger with another Oscar-winning actress joining the team.

Vin Diesel has revealed on social media, below, that Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson, has signed on for the highly anticipated Fast & Furious 10. Taking to Instagram, the star wrote: “You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology.

“Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”

She joins fella Oscar winners Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren in the lucrative franchise.

She joins Aquaman star Jason Momoa, who signed on to play the movie’s villain recently (here) and The Suicide Squad fan-favourite Daniela Melchior who has also signed on in the last week or so. Nothing is really known about the characters any of the three will play in the tenth movie which arrives next May.

I’m a massive fan of the Fast & Furious franchise – although I was pretty disappointed by the most recent instalment, so I’ll be excited to see who these new stars will be bringing into the franchise’s ever-expanding story.

The movie will be directed by Justin Lin who already has five of the franchise’s movies under his belt and is hailed by many as one of the main reasons the franchise went from mediocre to world-dominating.

Fast & Furious 10 is due to be released on May 19th, 2023.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
