Bruce Campbell says the Evil Dead franchise has more to come… just without him

May 16th, 2019 by Marc Comments

So, had you asked me a few years ago if i could imagine Evil Dead without the legend that is Bruce Campbell involved, I would have given you the evil eye. The Evil Dead evil eye? Anyway…

But then Fede Alvarez made his Evil Dead movie and it went back to the bare-bones scary and bloody as hell origins of the franchise and I loved it.

And then we got the Ash Vs Evil Dead series and all was right in the world.

But after the show wrapped its third season, Campbell announced he was done playing the roll of Ash Williams and a little bit of me died inside.

But, he may be gone, but it seems the franchise is still very much alive. In a new interview with  Inquisitir, the actor confirmed that he will still dabble a little with the character in other media, but the franchise will go one without him: “I’m still doing video games, I’m doing voices for Ash. I’m just not going to grovel in the blood anymore,” he said.

“They’re going to see different versions, they’re going to be seeing more Evil Dead, too. We’re not done with the Evil Dead saga, more stories to tell.”

Serious mixed reactions on this one, to be honest. I mean, I did like the Alvarez movie but Campbell, for all that, IS the Evil Dead franchise to me, personally.

But I have faith.

Maybe.

Do you?
