Captain America: Civil War’s co-director can’t wait to see Batman V Superman!

Another voice of reason has emerged from the madness that is the Marvel Vs DC movie fandom.

Remember last week when we reported the Supergirl and Jessica Jones actresses Melissa Benoist and Krysten Ritter were being all be sty friends on social media (here)?

Well now Captain America: Civil War co-director Anthony Russo has been geeing out over the prospect of Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman movie, saying it’s not competition for his movie, but not in a mean way but rather in a ‘let’s all be friends’ way.

Speaking at Comic-Con Experience in São Paulo, Brazil, he said: “As filmmakers, my brother and I, we love the genre. The more good comic book movies there are the better, as far as we’re concerned. So, we don’t really look at it as competition. We think Zack Snyder is great and we hope the movie is fun and great and we enjoy it like everybody else.”

With several Marvel actors being rather bitchy about the movie recently, it’s nice to see real fans who can have allegiance to one camp but still be fans of the other. That’s true fandom and the Russo brothers are setting a fine example.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
