While we have no information on the character, we can confirm that Charlize Theron is in place as the main villain in Fast and Furious 8.
After Theron’s performance in Snow White and the Huntsman and [especially] Mad Max: Fury Road, we think this is great news and a fun shift in dynamic for the Fast and Furious franchise, with a female lead big bad.
While we will surely know more about her character soon – the movie is only a year away – but we already love the casting.
In related news, Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju will play one of Theron’s henchmen.

Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black will all be back for the first movie in the franchise to not feature the late Paul Walker. We’d say it’s a safe bet that Jason Statham, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell will be back too.
