While Star Trek: Beyond seemed to go a long way to bridging the gap between fans of Abrams’ Trek universe and the fans of the Original Series, it looks like the fourth movie is unlikely, especially with Trek making its way back onto small screens.

However, Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, who played James T Kirk’s father in the first of the reboot universe, George Kirk, says he’s been chatting to J J Abrams about the movie and he’s really excited for it.

So maybe it is happening after all?

We’ve known for a while that the proposed fourth outing would see George and James T Kirk meet and this is what Hemsworth had to say: “I’ve spoken to JJ Abrams, and he has an amazing pitch on the whole thing”.

As for how the two Captain Kirks meet in the first place? Hemsworth said: “I honestly don’t know.”

Surely JJ told him how in his pitch?

Anyway…

So, would you like to see Star Trek 4 happen or are you happy for it to end with Beyond and for new adventures to arrive in the shape of Star Trek: Discovery?

Let us know your thoughts…
