Colin Firth talks about his role in Kingsman: The Golden Circle

September 1st, 2016 by Marc Comments

Well, we have to admit, we were as surprised as anyone to hear that Colin Firth was back for the sequel to Kingsman.

Because, look it’s not a spoiler at this stage, he died. He dead. He’s an ex-Harry Hart.

But yet, we will see him back for Kingsman: The Golden Circle. However, in what context? Well, Cinemablend asked him what exactly he’ll be doing in Matthew Vaughn’s secret agent sequel:

“I’m going to do everything I can to creatively deflect your question. It’s no secret that I have some involvement with it, but I think it would be a pity to get too specific about what that is. I can tell you, yes, I’ve been on the set, and there is an extraordinary atmosphere where I think nothing is going to be obvious to anybody,” the actor deftly said.

“I think Matthew Vaughn’s outrageousness and the way he likes to subvert people’s expectations, it’s very, very much alive. This is not a stretching out of the stuff from the first movie. It’s going to be a complete and utter… I’m optimistic that it’s going to be extraordinary, and utterly its own thing.”

Well, we have to give it to him, that was a world class dodge.

We’re looking forward to seeing Harry return, hell, we’d be happy with another look at the Church fight… but that’s just us.

Ae you looking forward to the Kingsman sequel? Let us know.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
