Could DC and Marvel characters share the screen in a Funko! movie?

January 28th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Hmmmmmmm… well, we have a LEGO Movie universe, we have a Playmobil movie coming, so why not a Funko movie too?

Yes, word is that a Funko movie is in development at Warners and it’s hoped that it may be the first time DC and Marvel characters will appear onscreen together after the LEGO movie wasn’t able to make it happen with  Disney.

The popular bobbleheads which now have covered pretty much every movie, TV show, band, sport and person you could think of, is being targeted by Warner Animation Group (WAG) for release next year.

The news was broke on Twitter (below) by SuperBroMovies’ Daniel Richtman who seems to have an image of the board where development has begun. Further details seem to hint at character likely to appear, including Hellboy, Darth Vader, My Little Pony, Hello Kitty, Deadpool, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn.

This is still very early days, so we have no more details at the minute and this is still solidly rumour territory… but it would make sense, wouldn’t it?

Would you like to see DC and Marvel share the screen like this? Let us know.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
