D23 continues in Annaheim and more news of upcoming movies are emerging…

First up, Jungle Book director Jon Favreau and actors Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, and Neel Sethi (Mowgli, the only real person on screen as the rest are voice actors) revealed the poster (above) for the movie, due on April 15th, 2016.

Next up was Alice: Through The Looking Glass details (the posters were revealed yesterday) which sound mental. Maybe in a good way: “Returning from the original movie are Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonhan Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and they announced that Sacha Baron Cohen plays a new  character called Time whose powers allow Alice to visit the Wonderland characters at different times in their lives. Because of this, we’ll be seeing some of the characters’ prequel stories to the classic Lewis Caroll story of the same name.”

Alice Through the Looking Glass is due for release on May 27th, 2016 and will be directed by James Bobbin.

Jurassic World’s Bryce Dallas Howard was on hand with a clip from Pete’s Dragon, directed by David Lowery, she also presented the movie’s logo (below), the remake of the classic movie will hit cinemas on August 12th, 2016.

Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush are returning as Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa and the big bad this time out will be Javier Bardem’s Captain Salazar.

Additional new faces are Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth, while Brenton Thwaites plays Henry.

Oh, and Orlando Bloom will be returning as Will Turner. The movie will set sail on July 7th, 2017.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
