Did Joel Kinnaman just tease an unexpected character’s return for Suicide Squad 2?

So Joel Kinnaman just shared an image on his Instagram. Nothing unusual there.

And it’s generally being taken that it sees him getting in shape for Suicide Squad 2 (full details here), again, nothing  unusual… except it also features Jai Courtenay who played Captain Boomerang and Jay Hernandez, the actor who pretty much stole the movie with his portrayal of Diablo.

Only thing is, Diablo died in the first movie fitting Incubus… or at least it certainly seemed that way:

Now, we realise this doesn’t confirm anything, but you’d have to imagine that if there’s three of the squad together then they’re all there for a reason.

Of course, we are also hearing that Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie, Deadshot, Joker and Harley Quinn respectively, are all back too.

Now, don’t get us wrong, we really liked Suicide Squad but we kinda hoped that the next instalment would give us a whole new Task Force X with all new members… as much as we loved the team in the first movie, we hope we see new additions too. King Shark anyone?

So, does this mean Diablo is back? Let us know your thoughts…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
