Donald Glover and Michael B Jordan rumoured to return to the MCU in Black Panther 2

So, despite the fact that Black Panther 2, while definitely going to happen, hasn’t started production in any shape size or form, we’re already getting speculation about the return of two pretty big MCU characters

The Metro here in the UK is reporting that that movie wants Han Solo: A Star Wars Story star Donald Glover to appear in the movie as a new character: “Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther’s sequel and has written in a number of new characters that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres,” they report.

“One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino [Glover’s musical moniker]. Nothing is set in stone, but ‘informal talks’ [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino, and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen.”

Now, it makes absolute sense that Cooler would want Glover in the movie because, well, frankly, he’s massive at the minute, between his upcoming debut as Lando Calrissian and his Rapping career under the name of Childish Gambino.

However… they seem to be overlooking the fact that Glover is already an established MCU character: The Prowler.

So, we’re guessing he’ll be reappearing in the movie as an already established character: Aaron Davis (uncle to Ultimate Spider-man, Miles Morales in the comics and, we believe, the movies) aka The Prowler.

The Prowler would make sense to appear as after the events of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, Wakanda is no longer a hidden country to the world and The Prowler, being a master thief, may want some of the Vibranium tech for himself… or a client.

Another character rumoured to appear is Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, the now dead villain of Black Panther: “They’re still yet to decide if Michael B. Jordan will return in some capacity,” the report notes, “but if he doesn’t it’s likely Gambino may play some kind of villain.”

So what say you all? Would they bring back Killmonger? Will they establish The Prowler as a top tier villain? Honestly, our thoughts are that Glover’s appearance is definitely possible, if not likely, but we just can’t see Jordan returning to the same role so soon in the franchise… possibly down the line but not in the same role in two consecutive movies. But we could be wrong.

Let us know what you all think…
