Eddie Redmayne officially offered role of Newt Scamander Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts

While we’ve been reporting on his apparent involvement for a while now (here), it seems that The Theory of Everything actor Eddie Redmayne has officially been offered the role of Newt Scamander in Warner Bros’ Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The rumour is that the actor didn’t want to agree to anything until he saw the script but that he was “intrigued” by the story. Now, reportedly he liked the script and everyone is waiting on his final decision…

As for the rest of the cast, apparently director David Yates is hoping to start the casting process for the remaining roles including two American girls and two American boys.
