With the death of Paul Walker at the weekend, it was only to be expected that the next Fast and Furious movie would suffer set backs, especially with the news that several of the cast had said they wouldn’t be back anytime soon as they deal with the tragedy.
Well, it seems that, according to the New York Times, as expected, things are put on hold. According to the paper the movie, which started filming in September, was about halfway through filming with Walker still set to complete several crucial scenes at the time of his death. Now Universal and the cast and crew must come to terms with the loss and determine just how the movie, and franchise, should move forward.
It goes without saying that the original July 11, 2014 release is now looking very, very unlikely.
