October 12th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Well, we can stop hoping and praying that Idris Elba will be the villain of Hobbs & Shaw, the first spin-off from the word of Fast & Furious.

The Rock confirmed today over Instagram that Elba is the villain and he’s called Brixton!

Here’s what Dwayne Johnson had to say on his casting:

When you bring together two of the biggest action stars in the world in @therock & @jasonstatham you need to find a force of nature that can take them on. Someone that can disrupt the universe and raise hell in a way we’ve never seen before. World…say hello to #Brixton. @idriselba is an absolute beast in our #HobbsAndShaw movie and you guys are going to love seeing these three titans go head to head on screen. Get ready! #BRIXTON #ConsequenceAgent #HellRaiser @sevenbucksprod @danygarciaco #ChrisMorgan @davidmleitch @universalpictures @fastandfuriousmovie

And you can check out Elba’s book in the movie below.

Oh, yes! We are so excited to see the Rock, the Stathe and, em, the Elba together on the screen.

Seriously, can you imagine how much testosterone will be coming off this!?

A spinoff of The Fate of the Furious, focusing on Johnson’s US Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs forming an unlikely alliance with Statham’s Deckard Shaw.

Hobbs & Shaw is being helmed by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch with a script from franchise veteran Chris Morgan. Neal H. Moritz and Hiram Garcia are on board the project as producers with Original Film
Seven Bucks Productions. The film stars Johnson and Statham who will be joined by Vanessa Kirby, who is playing an MI5 agent and Shaw’s sister and Idris Elba, who will be playing the villain.

Hobbs & Shaw will hit theaters August 2, 2019.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
