Well, here’s the news we’ve all been waiting for… filming has started on Disney’s Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, the follow-up to Tim Burton’s 2010 Alice in Wonderland.
The Muppets director James Bobin will direct this one, which is now filming at Shepperton Studios.
The movie will star Mia Wasikowska (Alice), Johnny Depp (The Mad Hatter), Helena Bonham Carter (The Red Queen), Anne Hathaway (The White Queen), Matt Lucas (Tweedledee and Tweedledum), Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat), Alan Rickman (Alan Rickman), Michael Sheen (White Rabbit), Timothy Spall (Bayard), Paul Whitehouse (the March Hare) and Barbara Windsoe (Dormouse). New additions to the cast include Rhys Ifans as the Mad Hatter’s father, Ed Speleers as James Harcourt, Sacha Baron Cohen as’Time and Toby Jones as Wilkins.
The script is by Linda Woolverton, and the best part? Danny Elfman will be composing the score.
The movie is set to open on May 27th 2016
