First image from Avatar sequels appears online

October 2nd, 2019 by Marc Comments

I have to be honest, part of me was doubting these were actually happening and not some weird fever dream… although I’d like to think if i were having a fever dream it would be something more exciting.

Anyway, we finally have our first look at an image – not much of an image, in fairness – from the Avatar sequels.

While not too much is known about the sequels, we do know that they are due to hit cinemas on 17th December 2021, 22nd December 2023, 19th December 2025 and then 17th December 2027.

Yes, there’s four and currently they are rumoured called Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa.

The movies will star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and Cliff Curtis.

And James Cameron will be directing.

Here’s the image that has just appeared online, reading “Wave machines, blazing fire, and @JimCameron wielding a 3D camera — just another day on the set of the Avatar sequels!”

Let me know what you think… or hope… or expect from the world of the blue people.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
