Ok, the picture above isn’t the best, but it does give us our first look at the live-action movie Jem and the Holograms.
The movie is based off of the 80’s cartoon show, and based on what the costumes are and how the actresses are, they’re definitely trying to get that 80’s vibe.
The film stars Aubrey Peeples as Jem, with Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko, and Aurora Perrineau playing the Holograms. The film also stars Juliette Lewis, Ryan Guzman, and Molly Ringwald, and is directed by Jon Chu. The movie is set open on October 23.
UPDATE!: Here’s the synopsis for the film:
As a small-town girl catapults from underground video sensation to global superstar, she and her three sisters begin a one-in-a-million journey of discovering that some talents are too special to keep hidden. In Universal Pictures’ “Jem and the Holograms,” four aspiring musicians will take the world by storm when they see that the key to creating your own destiny lies in finding your own voice.
