Twentieth Century Fox have secured the rights to bring Alex Raymond’s iconic hero to the big screen for the first time since Mike Hodges’ so bad it’s actually really good 1980 sci-fi epic. And the writers tasked with the task of bringing him back are JD Payne and Patrick McKay who have just finished working with Robert Orci on Star Trek 3. A previous script exists and will be the backbone of their work and was written by George Nolfi who wrote Ocean’s Twelve and The Bourne Ultimatum.
According to Aintitcool: “This is apparently a sort of passion project for producer John Davis (the PREDATORs, CHRONICLE), who allegedly spent a year (and some of his own money) trying to nail down the rights to the world-famous 80-year-old property.”
