With the Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier wrapping yesterday, it seems the next chapter is ready to go.
The show’s head writer and creator, Malcolm Spellman, is working on developing a fourth Captain America movie starring Anthony Mackie in the red, white and blue.
At the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldier we got the legend ‘Captain America and the Winter Soldier’, so is that a tease of the movie’s title? We’ll all know soon enough.
While there is no casting news or details of any sort so far, I’d imagine it’s not a bad bet that it will be Mackie’s Sam Wilson in the title role and we can’t have Cap without Bucky, so I’d bet Sebastian Stan will be back too.
It’s clever too because, for those who won’t have seen the series, the last time they saw Sam was in Avengers: Endgame when he was given the shield by Chris Evans’ original Captain America, so when the fourth movie opens with Mackie in the role, it’ll make complete sense and the series will be a bonus for those who watched it but likely not essential otherwise. Clever.
Will we see Evans back as Steve Rogers? Hard to say at this point but I’d not rule anything out.
Thoughts on a Falcon/Captain America movie? Let me know…
