Frank Grillo just teased that Crossbones may not yet be dead in the MCU. Wut?

While we loved Captain America: Civil War – and we really did – one thing we didn’t like was how Crossbones, played by Frank Grillo, was treated.

His character was badass for sure but he was, well, he was blown up pretty early on thanks to a suicide belt and an effort to wipe out Cap.

Or was he?

Speaking with ABC News, Grillo, talking about Civil War and Brossbones’ fate, said: “You think he dies, don’t you? Did you see the body?… What did you see?”

The actor went on to reference his character’s fate in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in which he survived having a building drop on him: “I’m not saying anything except that…you didn’t see a body.”

It’s likely that Grillo has a contract for several more movies, however that doesn’t ensure he’ll be back. That said, comic books and combook movies, have a history of bringing back seemingly done for characters.

We’d love to see him back as Crossbones… but we just think it’s unlikely.

What do you think? Is he dead? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
