Frank Grillo to return as Crossbones in Captain America 3?

June 16th, 2014 by Marc Comments

So, at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier we saw Frank Grillo’s SHIELD/HYDRA agent Brock Rumlow broken and burned but very much breathing and ready to be reborn as the villainous Crossbones. But when can we expect to see him?

Well, Grillo is doing the press circuit at the minute for The Purge: Anarchy and has been chatting to Collider about his big return: “I’m cautiously optimistic that you will see me in the not too distant future in the next installment of Captain America. Very early on the [directors] said, ‘Look, this is an origin film for this character. We’re gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we’re gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here’s the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into.” Could this mean Captain America 3? It would certainly fit into the story as it’s been set up so far.

“When Rumlow makes it back to health, he’ll no doubt be carrying some scars. He needs a costume! Coincidentally it could be a mask with a crossbones on it.”

So has Cap officially got a new nemesis in the third outing?  Looks likely…

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
