Well…this is awkward.

Star Wars would not exist without George Lucas, can we accept that? We can? Thank you. Moving on.

Love him or hate, the man is a genius, and he is full of ideas on how to do things, especially when it comes to films. When it was announced that a new trilogy was being made for Star Wars, the involvement of Lucas immediately came to the forefront of everyone’s mind.

Would be in the group overseeing the film? Would he help write or direct or produce the film? Questioned abounded. Well apparently, we have our answer. Lucas DID write stuff for the new trilogy…but Disney decided not to use it.

“The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote.”

Now obviously we don’t know why Disney did that. They could have wanted to take the franchise in a different direction, already had an idea by someone else, or maybe they just didn’t want Lucas to be a part of this trilogy. We may never know.
