Hailee Steinfeld wants to play Batgirl and, honestly, we’re so totally on for it!

While not exactly news, we thought it would be fun to get your thoughts on this…

Actress Hailee Steinfeld (above), who blew our minds in movies such as Edge of Seventeen and True Grit, and will soon be seen in the Bumblebee movie, has thrown her name in the hat to play…. Barbara Gordon AKA Batgirl in the DC Cinematic Universe movie currently being penned (and set to be directed) by Joss Whedon.

In a new interview (bottom of the page) the actress is asked if she fancied getting into the superhero movie world and was asked if perhaps Batgirl would be appealing to her: “I’m not gonna lie, that’s kind of what I was thinking,” she replies, “But I wasn’t… I didn’t know if I… what to say. I would love that.”

Seriously, how adorable is she?!

And, on top of that, she definitely has our vote for the role of Batgirl, in fact, apart from her hair not being red, we reckon she’s the exact fit for the role.

But we want to hear what you think.
(Continues after pic)

In related news, actress Rebel Wilson (above), in the same interview, says she would love to get into the superhero movie world and named Valiant’s Faith (Faith Herbert, AKA Zephyr) character as a possibility for her as she wants to pal someone who really ‘kicks ass’

Again, let us know what you think, guys…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
