Has Captain America: The Winter Soldier found its Sharon Carter? And what other Avenger might feature?

February 2nd, 2013 by Marc Comments

Continuing the ‘no ugly people in the Marvel movie-verse’ tradition, Captain America: The Winter Soldier has cast Revenge TV star Emily Van Camp.

So far all that’s known is she’ll be the lead actress in the movie and a love interest which leaves us to believe she’ll be Capt’s original love inter Peggy Carter’s (played by Hayley Atwell in the first movie) daughter and fellow SHIELD agent, Sharon Carter.

We are also hearing rumours that Black Widow – Scarlett Johasson – will also be in the movie. Given her SHIELD status we don’t think it’s that far of a stretch to see that being a truth. Which means there’ll be plenty to, em, look at even if the movie is poor. Which we don’t think it will be given the source material.

This rounds the cast so far to: Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johansson, Emily Van Camp and Toby Jones. It’s directed by Anthony and Joe Russo

Captain America The Winter Soldier will be released on in the April 4, 2014

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
