Here’s Luke’s first words to Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

March 9th, 2017 by Marc Comments

For almost a year and half Star War fans have all been asking the same question: “What happens now?!”.

Ever since Rey climbed those stairs and came face to face with Luke Skywalker (for an oddly long time) before the credits rolled, we have all been pacing the floors to learn what Luke would say to the visitor on his island…

And now we might know.

Footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuted at Disney’s annual shareholders meeting in Denver and is reported to have included Luke’s first words to Rey.

Ready?

Sure?

He said: “Who are you?”

Oh.

Ok. Makes sense, we suppose.

Rey then apparently shows him who she is by deftly swinging her (his) lightsaber around in a Jedi-like fashion.

Other footage glimpsed showed Chewbacca, General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), and Finn (John Boyega) as well as a damaged X-Wing flying through a larger ship, along with a variety of mountain, desert, and forest landscapes.

This all sounds pretty awesome… and has us wondering if surely the first trailer can’t be far off.

What do you think of Luke’s first words? Hardly epic, we admit…

Rian Johnson directs Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, which stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. New stars include Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.

The movie is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens on Dec. 15.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
