Some cool plot details have allegedly arrived for the Birds of Prey movie.
So far we know the movie will star Margot Robbie and Harley, Scott Pilgrim and 10 Cloverfield Lane star Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress and Underground actress Jurnee Smollett-Bell is Black Canary. They will be joined by Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. We also know Cassandra Cane will feature and Black Mask will be the villain with these roles waiting to be cast.
But what of the plot?
Well, Revenge of the Fans claim they have the inside scoop on what the movie will have going on in it.
Here’s what they are saying:
- Black Canary is a singer who fights crime at night.
- Huntress was a killer for Black Mask right up until discovering that he killed her family. So now she’s hunting him down.
- Harley Quinn is trying to move on from The Joker (who is referenced, but not seen).
- Renee Montoya, on the other hand, is on Huntress and Black Mask’s trail because of the body count they’ve amassed.
- The Birds will be trying to save Cassandra Cain, a 12-year old Asian assassin, from Black Mask, who has kidnapped her and wants to train her to kill for him just like Huntress used to do.
- Montoya, who is a Gotham police officer, realizes that the Birds of Prey aren’t entirely bad, and ends up helping them on their quest to save the young assassin.
They report that the finale won’t see the Birds rescue Cassandra, but rather this will happen early in the movie and the end will likely see all the ladies team up to take down Black Mask.
They also mention an “epic cameo” in but won’t say who it is as it “sounds way too good to be true”.
Hmmmmmmmm… could this be where we meet Black Adam? After all, he was rumoured to be the villain of Suicide Squad 2 before James Gunn took over after the original story was supposedly too similar to the in-production Birds of Prey.
And, speaking of Black Adam… well, Shazam! (tenuous link), actor Zachary Levi was recently talking about being part of the DC Cinematic Universe and, honestly, he’s so adorable we just had to share it. It’s great that he’s such a fan!
