Who wants a little X-Men: Apocalypse round-up? Yeah, we thought as much…

Ok, so here’s the big story, first…

Who remembers this character?:

Ok, if you don’t, that’s Dazzler, the former X-Men character. According to Wikipedia:

Dazzler (Alison Blaire) is a fictional superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually associated with the X-Men. She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #130 (February 1980).

A mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, Dazzler was originally developed as a cross-promotional, multi-media creation between Casablanca Records and Marvel Comics until the tie-ins were dropped in 1980. The character was created by a committee of Marvel staff, principally writer/editor Tom DeFalco and illustrator John Romita, Jr.

She even led the X-Men at one point – anyway, we digress. The character was reasonably popular for a period during the 80s but soon was forgotten about. Until now.

So, remember this tweet?:

That’s Apocalypse producer Simon Kinberg along with Xavier himself, James McAvoy, Jean Grey actress Sophie Turner and… Taylor Swift. And when it was published everyone assumed Swift just popped in to say hello during filming. But what if it was a little more complicated than that? Now Sophie Turner has been Tweeting and shared this:

Yes, that’s her and Cyclops in a record shop in the 1980s in the movie, holding up an album by Dazzler (Sounds of Light and Fury – we see what you did there).

And now a lot of people seem to think that Taylor Swift wasn’t just on set… but may actually be cameoing in the movie AS Dazzler.

We don’t think it’s impossible… she may not actually be a character in the movie, but perhaps MTV is on in the background somewhere and we see one of her music videos? Or does the fact that Turner says in the tweet that she is their “favourite artist” mean they may have a poster of her on the wall at the mansion somewhere?

We know we’ll see Jean Grey’s bedroom in the movie… remember the bit where she’s in bed in the trailer? We reckon this could be a thing and would be great for the fans.

Given just how big the Marvel Universe is, even just the FOX stuff, and the fact that fans are thirsty for nods and winks in the movies to other adventures and characters – look, when there are Marvel casino games like Mansioncasino.com you know society has truly realised just how big a part of the pop culture they are – and with DC and Marvel’s universes always expanding we can expect to see FOX following suit, perhaps?

Anyway, in related news:

EW have been chatting to Tye Sheridan who plays Scott Summers AKA Cyclops in the new movie and the actor has revealed that he is signed on for two more movies in the series, which means Apocalypse isn’t the final X-Men movie as some (including us) have speculated.

And finally…

A new international TV Spot has popped up online and features quite a bit of footage that’s new… including Olivia Munn as Psylocke brandishing what some are dubbing a psychic whip…

Plus check out the cool cage fight clip featuring Nightcrawler and Angel.

Check them out below and let us know your thoughts, especially on the Dazzler think. It’s got us all talking here at FTN, that’s for sure.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
