There’s been a lot of rumours flying around recently about how Captain America: Civil War will introduce Tom Holland’s Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Geek.com (via Squareeyed) claim to have spoken to a well-placed source. With that, they claim the latest incarnation of the web-slinging hero will enter the MCU via the ‘watchful eye’ of Tony Stark.

“It appears that Tony Stark, ever one to keep a watchful eye on the who’s who of the super world, took note of a certain young genius and his superhuman abilities, which makes sense, given all the SHIELD files he had access to. He’s probably been keeping tabs on Peter Parker since he first started his career as a vigilante.”

Apparently, Stark will track Spidey down and will attempt to recruit him, while sweetening the deal by offering him a new and improved suit. According to the report, Peter Parker will accept the offer because he’s been idolising Iron Man since he was a child.

Of course, the validity of these reports will be questioned, but considering all of the recent reports, Stark will figure prominently in Spider-Man’s introduction.

In related news, has this new hoodie (which we LOVE by the way) revealed some of the design we can expect to see on the all new Spider-man costume?

Clothing company Merchoidhave revealed their new Civil War line of clothes and in among it is a Spider-man hoodie which seems to be inspired by the all-new Spidey (look at the Cap hoodie, it’s very similar to Cap’s outfit) and we suspect it will be similar to the outfit we see Tom Holland wearing in the movie.

“There’s been lots of talk online and people have been really excited that this could be what reveals the new look Spider-man,” says Merchoid community manager Jessica Adams.

“However, Marvel is doing a fantastic job of keeping the new Spider-man costume under wraps, so we haven’t yet seen it! What we can say is this hoodie was designed in partnership with Marvel, who provided all the design elements from their 2016 merchandise range, including the ‘messy’ webbing, which we haven’t yet seen in any prior Spider-man costume. We’re really excited to see what Spider-man fans think! …Whether or not this is based on the new Spider-man costume, the reaction so far has been incredible. We can’t wait to hear what people think about the final product when it releases in July.”

What do you think? Is this a taste of the new Spidey suit? We really like it… what about you all?
