It’s happened! James McAvoy has gone bald as Professor X in X-Men: Apocalypse and we have the picture!

It was only a matter of time… but James McAvoy has finally lost the hair for the role of Professor X in X-Men: Apocalypse.

We’re wondering if Apocalypse will cause Professor X to lose the locks? We’ll all know next May…

The image below was shared by the director Bryan Singer on Instagram and we can’t wait to meet the new Prof.

McAvoy stars with Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters, Lucas Till and newcomers Alexandra Shipp, Ben Hardy, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Lana Condor and Olivia Munn. Oscar Isaac is starring as the film’s title antagonist with Simon Kinberg scripting from a treatment by Mike Dougherty, Dan Harris and Kinberg.

The Bryan Singer directed X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.

Here’s McAvoy getting his head shaved…

And, as a reminder, here’s Patrick Stewart as Professor X in the X-Men movies… the man McAvoy will become years from now. In the movies. Obviously.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
