Well, it’s official, The Rock is set to star in the Jumanji remake…
Obviously.
Look, we love Dwayne Johnson as much as anyone, but this just doesn’t feel like the right fit to us; it feels more like another Journey movie (he’s already making part three and is rumoured for the fourth already). But hey, we’ve been wrong before.
There was also a rumour than his new best friend Kevin Hart may co-star but we’ve heard nothing official on this yet.
The actor confirmed his involvement on his Instagram and you can check it out below.
Based on Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 children’s book, “Jumanji” was adapted into the 1995 film of the same name, starring Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan Grier, Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde and Bebe Neuwirth. The original film follows the story of a 12-year-old boy who gets trapped in a board game in 1969, only to be released 26 years later.
“Walk Hard” helmer Jake Kasdan has been tapped to direct the reboot, from a script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. Sony’s “Jumanji” remake hasn’t been given a release date.
