It seems that it might really be the end of an era as the man who was once the hero to millions of not just kids, says he’s done with a rle he’s played for over 40 years.
Mark Hamill, perhaps best known as Luke Skywalker, saw his character die and come back as a Force ghost in the recent Star Wars sequel trilogy, although many will know that Hamill was not happy at how Luke’s character was portrayed in those movies (watch here for more), howeber, he got some of the character’s dignity back when he appeared, with the help of digital effects and a younger actor, in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett Disney+ shows.

Since these appearances, where we were reminded of how great Luke Skywalker really was and could still be, we’ve been waiting to find out if or when we’d see him again.
And the answer seems to be that we won’t… at least not looking like older Hamill.
“I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called Star Wars ‘the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,’” Hamill says in a new interview, “We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I’m appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.”

Hamill’s age is doubtless part of the reason that he won’t be back, although many fans have turned on the actor after his recent political rants, bordering on madness, which might also play a role in his stepping down.
On top of this, Disney now has his digital voice and likeness, so Hamill’s participation is no longer really needed to bring back Luke.
Jesus, that was depressing to write.
