Jack Black explains how Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle will connect to the original movie

June 20th, 2017 by Marc Comments

With the Jumanji sequel hitting this Christmas, details are starting to emerge on just how it will tie to the original movie starring the late Robin Williams.

Jack Black, who stars in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (see image above) has been sharing some details about the movie and how Williams’ presence will be a part of the story “We’re exploring this jungle and trying to conquer the game; it’s life or death, but while we’re there, we find clues left behind by (Robin Williams’ character Alan Parrish).

“He built up a full-blown jungle house, similar to a Swiss Family Robinson situation. It’s like he’s there helping us without actually being there.”

This is a pretty neat way to tie it all together and has us wondering if we’ll see any more of Williams’, like perhaps a family photo from the original?

“(In the original [movie]) you never got to see the inside world, but this one takes place primarily inside the jungle of Jumanji. That’s the coolest part of the film — we’re able to transport the audience to that secret and wondrous land, with the danger and the beauty.”

Given that the first movie was about the board game taking over the real world, it will be interesting to see the world of Jumanji itself which was only glimpsed on the Williams movie.

The new Jumanji cast also includes Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Alex Wolff and Morgan Turner. And is directed by Jake Kasdan.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is in theaters on December 22nd, 2017.
