James Gunn teases bigger team in Guardians of the Galaxy 2…

October 21st, 2014 by Marc Comments

Come on, admit it… you’re excited about Guardians of the Galaxy 2. And you should be…

Well, director James Gunn has been talking about his plans for the sequel: “It’s going to be a really surprising open. What happens is all the characters are killed in the first 10 minutes. In really horribly, brutal fashion.” Em, we suspect he’s kidding…

The director, speaking to Variety, confirmed that the team would return and there would be others too and went on to talk about how excited he is about the follow-up: “I spent all day on first of August, the day the first movie was released, writing Guardians 2. I was so excited about it and I was finally able to let go of the last one and begin the second one. I always saw this as a universe, not just as one story.”

And he also pondered the possibility of Star Lord fighting alongside Han Solo (since they all live under Disney’s roof now): “Star Wars was a long time ago,” says Gunn.

“It would have to be time travel…”

Well, we didn’t believe it anyway. Honest.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
