Jason Momoa says he has been told ‘great news’ about the future of DC on film

January 19th, 2023 by Marc Comments

While we all sit waiting for James Gunn to reveal the first stage of his and Peter Safran’s plan for the DCEU’s future, it seems that Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been given some news and believes that it’s good news for the fans.

While we know that Henry Cavill is no longer Superman and Ben Affleck is likely out as Batman (here), we’re wondering what is next for Momoa as word seemed to be that he was done as Aquaman after Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom this Christmas but might be set to return as Lobo (here) as the DCEU reboots/restarts/enters next stage/whatever.

However, while he reveals nothing, Momoa has revealed on Instagram (below) that he has been at Warner Bros and has been given details on where DC goes next and it’s ‘good news’.

“Four years ago, I had the jeep out front… Y’all remember four years ago? I was screaming, wasn’t I? … Screaming when I left Warner Bros. Everybody ready? YAHOO! Four years again. It’s a mystery, baby… I’ve got some really good news. Great news with Warner Bros. Amazing,” the star says.

Watch Momoa’s Instagram story here.

“Wish I could tell you, but here it is. Peter, I love you. James, I love you. David. Okay. To the future, to the future.”

These people are DC Studios’ co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran and Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

What Momoa has learned, we have no idea, but with the word being that Gunn will be giving fans a look at the plans for the next few years of DC content in the coming weeks, we may see what has him excited pretty soon.

But honestly, if it doesn’t involve the return of Cavill and Affleck, the audience is going to be a tough one to win over.

Thoughts?
