Although we’ve had an idea for a while that Jeff Golblum would be returning to the sci-fi sequel Independence Day 2 as David Levinson and that Liam Hemsworth was rumoured to be joining the movie, it’s now official thanks to Director Roland Emmerich.
He Tweeted that the pair were signed up (below) and we’re excited to have Goldblum back because he’s still one of the most enduring things about the original movie – now, can we get Judd Hirsch back as his dad, please!
Emmerich alsoTweeted that When the Game Stands Tall star Jessie Usher is on board too.
We expect to hear alot about the sequel now that the cast is locked, so we’ll keep you posted
Hemsworth is a rising Hollywood star, likely best known for playing Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games series. He also played Billy “The Kid” in The Expendables 2.
Independence Day 2 is slated for theatrical release on June 24, 2016.
