Get ready for the new daily show

Joe Russo is a big Batman fan and would like to direct a movie version

Now that co-directors of Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo are done with Marvel movies that are, understandably, looking to see what is next.

And it seems that Joe Russo may be looking to cross the street to the DC stable as he’s expressed interest in a Batman movie.

In a new Q&A (below), Russo – who cut his teeth on TV shows like Community – was asked what other super characters he’d like to direct and he replied: “As far as what I collected as a kid, I collected Batman. [That] was one of the DC characters I collected. So it would have to be Batman.”

Now this means nothing but it is interesting that he’s keen on the Dark knight… although it’s unlikely he will ever get the chance. But given the whole James Gunn affair, I’m not rule anything out.

But with Matt Reeves’ The Batman likely to start production this year, even if it were to happen it likely wouldn’t be for a while.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
