It looks like Vin Diesel has found his replacement for Dwayne Johnson in the upcoming Fast & Furious 9.
Posting on his instagram, the star is talking from his gym (the Toretto gym, don’t you know?) and had this to say: “I’m always thinking Fast, and thinking about the responsibility, and making something iconic and deserving of your loyalty.
“I know this sounds crazy, but every blue moon I feel like Pablo up there sends me someone. Another soldier for the fight for truth. Today, someone came by the Toretto gym that speaks to what Pablo would have brought me. All love, always.”
Pablo is, of course, the late Paul Walker and the new face is Bumblebee star John Cena.
What role Cena will play in the new movie is unknown but given that Johnson and Diesel have had a major fallout, we can assume he’ll step into that role in some way.
So with Cena going this and the news a few days ago that Keanu Reeves may have joined the cast of Hobbs & Shaw, it’s been a big week for the Fast & Furious franchise…
Fast & Furious 9 is due next summer and see the return of director Justin Lin, who made the franchise the phenomenal it is today with Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast 5 and Fast 6 unde his belt. It will also see . As well Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and Michelle Rodriguez jong Cena and Diesel.
