The John Wick universe may be heading in a whole new direction, as it has been revealed that the series might get its first period piece.
In a recent article spotlighting up-and-coming writers in Hollywood, it’s been revealed that The Traveler’s Austin Everett has penned an original Samurai Western set in the John Wick universe.
What do we know about said Western? Well, nothing, with Everett himself saying: “That’s probably as much as I can say.”

What we do know is that there are many John Wick movies and shows at planning stages, from John Wick 5, Caine, The High Table series, the ‘impossible task’ anime movie and more, but this Samurai Western is a new one on me.
Could it be an alternate-history epic, telling the story of the High Table and the founding of the Assassins’ Guild as we know it in the current John Wick timeline? Might we see an Assassin’s Creed-esque adventure, laying out the groundwork of that hyper-realistic world we’ve come to love?
Honestly, I have no idea but I do know that the words ‘Samurai Western set in the John Wick universe’ have my heart all aflutter and my brain teaming with possibilities. Whatever it is, I can’t wait to (hopefully) hear and see more.
