Now that we know Dredd himself, Karl Urban, is in Thor Ragnarok as Skurge, we’re holding out for any available information on his character and role.

Now Urban himself has talked to IGN about the role -watch the video below – and the script in general and he’s impressed with what he knows so far: “I read a fantastic script that was action-packed and full of great characters. When I heard who was involved and [saw] the opportunity to work with [director] Taika Waititi, who I think is one of the most brilliant directors coming through, I made the decision it was something that I wanted to be a part of.

“And the character is fantastic. He’s got a great arc to him. Obviously, I can’t say too much about it, but I’m really thrilled to be a part of the Marvel universe and to be working on Thor: Ragnarok.”

Urban is no stranger to plauying comic roles and has been spotted reading Marvel books relating to the character. This is just one of the reasons we love Urban.

The character of Skurge in the comics is bald and Urban will have to shave his head for the role but not for a while yet, it seems: “I have it in my contract that I don’t have to shave my head until after my Star Trek press!”

Thor: Ragnarok hits theatres on November 3rd, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
