You may recall that before Hobbs & Shaw – the Fast & Furious spin-off – was released, there were rumours that Matrix/Bill & Ted/John Wick star Keanu Reeves was set to appear (turns out he was set to but ultimately didn’t), well now it seems that it could still happen at some stage.
Fast & Furious and Hobbs & Shaw writer Chris Morgan has confirmed that he has met with Keanu Reeves about appearing in the universe of these movies at some stage in the future: “I sat down with him and we’re talking about,” he said.
“I wanted him to be in the Fast universe for a very long time. We’re just trying to find… the hardest thing is always time and competing schedules and then designing the right thing together. My fervent desire is to bring him into this franchise for sure.”
Reeves is enjoying a second-coming of sorts at the moment thanks to the John Wick franchise and the returning Bill & Ted and The Matrix, so having him in the Fast & Furious franchise would be a smart move… and a very welcome one by fans.
Look, I’m calling it now, he’ll be the villain in Hobbs & Shaw 2… I’d put money on it (if I had any).
