Kevin Feige is looking forward to Justice League and tells why you should be too

November 8th, 2017 by Marc Comments

So anyone on here will not be shocked to hear that there’s a divide between the Marvel and DC movie fans. Well, some of them at least…

Many of the fans just enjoy a playful bit of to-ing and fro-ing, however many take it to extreme levels and can sometimes get vicious and outright ugly.

We at FTN all have different opinions – personally I prefer the DC movies – but we never let it get in the way of our friendships and it’s always just fun. Which is how it should be.

And if you don’t believe us, why not listen to what Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has to say about the DC movies, particularly Justice League: “I think movies are awesome and people should go out and support awesome movies, and I go support those movies and I thought Wonder Woman was awesome. I can’t wait to see what Geoff Johns and Joss [Whedon] and the gang has done with Justice League,” said Feige.

“People like rivalries, I guess? I don’t know. But I’m seeing Geoff Johns in a couple of weeks for dinner. We went to this Dick Donner event together. Dick’s Superman is still the best archetype of superhero films. So yeah, just go see cool movies. What are you fighting about?”

See?

It’s awesome that Feige can sing the praises of Wonder Woman and Richard Donner’s Superman, even going so far as to call Superman ‘the best archetype of superhero films’.

So why can’t we all just get along?

Justice League opens this week and good, bad or indifferent, let’s show our support and not just use it as an opportunity to attack either franchise and fandom?

That’s very well said and it really does feel like it’s time some immature comic book fans move on from battling over Marvel and DC movies. At the end of the day, they’re two completely separate companies and neither really seems to care what the other does, so why do you? Well, feel free to let us know your thoughts on that and Feige’s remarks about Justice League in the comments section down below.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
