Ho, ho, ho yes!
It looks like FTN favourite Kurt Russell is set to put on the red and white suit once again as Netflix has confirmed they are moving ahead with a sequel to last year’s The Christmas Chronicles.
The first movie had Harry Potter and Home Alone director Chris Columbus as a producer and word is that this time he’s stepping behind the camera for directing duties.
The original had over 20 million views in its opening week and remains one of the streaming service’s biggest hits.
The movie itself focused on a brother and sister who got into trouble and ended up on an adventure with a much cooler than usually portrayed Santa (Russell) and, while not great, was elevated to must-watch Christmas fare due to the presence of the always-amazing (and strangely well cast as Santa) Russell.
Filming is reportedly set to begin later this year, so if I had to guess I’d say we’ll see it arrive in time for Christmas 2020.
