March 27th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Greetings fellow Nerds and Nerdettes; we have an exclusive interview upcoming with none other that Patrick Boyle. One of the Uk’s greatest film composer’s ever, Patrick had composed such memorable scores as Carlito’s Way, Donnie Brasco and Gosford Park.

Like many great film director and composer partnerships such as Spielberg and Williams, Attenborough and Fenton, Patrick has worked with Sir Kenneth Branagh on numerous occasions and created memorable scores starting with Henry V (1989), Much Ado About Nothing, Frankenstein, Hamlet, As You Like It, Sleuth and, more recently, Thor.

Not only has Patrick composed some wonderful melodic pieces for dramas, he has composed scores for such blockbusters as Eragon, Nim’s Island, Rise of the Planet Apes and the recently released Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.

As part of The Belfast Film Festival, Patrick Doyle will be conducting the Ulster Orchestra as they perform some of his most memorable pieces of music from his association and collaboration with Sir Kenneth Brannagh from such films as Hamlet, Shelley’s Frankenstein and Thor. The concert is taking place at The Belfast Waterfront Hall on Monday 31st March. For tickets and event information, please visit here
