Well, it looks like a big character return has been revealed for Black Panther 2.
At the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards Courtney B Vance, husband of Black Panther star Angela Bassett, was happy to reveal a potentially massive spoiler for the Marvel sequel.
When asked if everyone was returning for the sequel, Basset replied: “I would assume so.”
However, not happy at that coy answer, Vance added: “Yes, just go ahead and say it, yes! Everyone will be there, including Michael B”
This is, of course a surprise because – despite rumours he’d return – his character Eric Kilmonger, died at the end of the first movie; however, Basset adds that no-one actually saw him go in the ocean (where he is presumed to have plummeted).
Of course, this could mean he’s back in flashbacks or that he simply didn’t die – many, including ourselves, hailed him as the best thing in the movie, so we welcome his return – but there’s always the possibility that when time is changed after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Kilmonger’s fate will have been altered.
Unlikely, sure… but not impossible.
Director Ryan Coogler will also be back for Black Panther 2.
