New developments on The Flash movie, Flashpoint, it seems.
Variety’s Justin Kroll has been on Twitter (tweets below) talking about the movie and, if he’s to be believed, it seems there are some interesting things afoot.
Firstly it seems the script has been handed in and is (currently) finished.
Also, it seems that the Warner Bros Artemis movie has ruled The LEGO movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller out as they have stepped up to direct:
Artemis is the forthcoming book from the author of The Martian, which was adapted into the Oscar-nominated Ridley Scott movie starring Matt Damon. Weir’s latest is described as a scifi crime caper that takes place on the moon’s first city, conveniently called Artemis. The novel comes out November 17.
However, there’s still good news as Bob Zemeckis is currently the studio’s number one choice – although they will speak to other directors too: “Bob z still being considered but studio will take meetings with other filmmakers, in no rush to make announcement,” Kroll tweeted.
So, if this is all true, the script is finished and Zemeckis is the current favourite to direct.
We can live with that. Can you? Let us know…
For those wondering this ARTEMIS news pretty much take L&M out of running for FLASH. That script was turned in yesterday to studio
