Mark Hamill has taken to Twitter (below) to explain what he believes killed Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi using Gary Whitta’s comic adaptation of the movie to do so.
Here’s what Hamill wrote:
‘THE FORCE KILLED LUKE. You have to acknowledge the irony in his fate. Almost like an addict that kicked his habit cold-turkey, remained clean for decades, only to re-use just once & then, tragically, overdoses.’
We reckon if anyone can break down what exactly went through Luke’s mind at the moment he bacame one with the Force it would be him and we honeslty like this take.
Having avoided using the Force for all those years, having turned from the galaxy, to save the Rebellion, sorry, Resistance, he was force to give himself untimately and fully to it.
It’s a noble end for our heero for the last 40 years… but we’d still rather he’d survived to fight another day in the closing chapter of HIS story.
Maybe that’s just us.
