Well, it’s official, Hollywood is adapting yet another classic TV series for the modern big screen. This time, it’s Mark Wahlberg being the Six BILLION Dollar Man, Steve Austin…no, not that wrestler.
“I’m thrilled to assemble The Six Billion Dollar Man for the big screen with the likes of Bob Weinstein and Damian Szifron,” said Wahlberg in a news release. “We look forward to creating a Steve Austin for the 21st century.”
Damian Szifron, who made last year’s critically acclaimed Wild Tales, will direct the film and also wrote the screenplay: “Writing the screenplay was such a fantastic ride and embarking on this journey with Mark, Bob and Stephen to take this story to a whole new level is simply spectacular. Growing up, these kinds of films left an indelible mark on me and now it feels so good to be making one.”
The movie will release December 22nd 2017.
