Marvel boss Kevin Feige talks Black Widow movie potential

March 12th, 2014 by Marc Comments

We’re still not sure that Black Widow has the stuff for a standalone movie, but we’re more than prepared to give it a chance. And it looks like we’re going to get an opportunity to do just that…

With the character, played by scarlett Johansson, featuring heavily in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there has been a lot of talk lately about wether or not we’ll get a standalone movie and Marvel top man Kevin Feige, doing the Captain America press circuit at the minute, has been having thoughts along the same lines according to superherohype:  “We’ve got various outlines and ideas of where to take that… there’s a big element that explores her back story in an upcoming Marvel feature. The question really is, ‘When will we take her out of the ensemble and have her do her own thing?’ As you saw in [‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’], as you’ll see in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ she’s really the key to so much of the plot development.”

Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens  internationally on March 26 and in North America on April 4, 2014

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
