In a new interview, The Batman and The Penguin’s Matt Reeves and Catwoman herself, Zoe Kravitz, reveal that Batman’s future is coming at us pretty fast.
During the interview, Kravitz asks Reeves about The Batman II script and Reeves confirmed what James Gunn, the head man at DC right now, said about the script: that it’s not finished yet but is almost there.
“We’re finishing the [Batman II] script. We’re going to be shooting next year” Reeves says.

It’s great to know that Robert Pattinson will be returning as Batman/Bruce Wayne in the near future but it also seems it’s not only Gotham’s guardian that has a future on screen.
HBO’s Penguin series ended a few weeks back and, like The Batman, starred Colin Farrell as the titular villain and it was, frankly, brilliant and it seems that a second season is now on the cards!
“We’re talking to [showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] about doing another season,” Reeves says, “That was a special experience. I just feel really fortunate. These characters don’t belong to me; they belong to the world. It comes down to whether you can approach them in a way that expresses something personal.”
While rumours still circulate that Pattinson’s Batman might actually be brought into the DCU as Batman opposite David Corenswet’s Superman – something I think would work really well: a dark, serious Batman in a world of comic characters who aren’t afraid to live in the light; it really makes me think of the 90s JLA comics.
As for whether or not this is the reason Reeves’ script was delayed, we’ll likely know soon enough but as of right now, Matt Reeves’ Gotham City is alive and well and populated by a Dark Knight and a lot of sinister bad guys, so, as Prince once wrote, ‘all is well in Gotham City’.
We’ll keep you posted on this as we get it all, guys…
Is Scarecrow in The Penguin series, hidden in plain sight? Well, yes…
