The Schwartz is strong with this one… Then again, I’ve been making this joke every time a rumour about this resurfaces. Yes, it seems that Mel Brooks is putting his focus on trying to get the long delayed Spaceballs sequel off the ground.

In a recent interview on Adam Carolla’s “Take a Knee Podcast”, Brooks stated that a sequel was in the early stages of development. The film is tentatively titled, Spaceballs: The Search for More Money, and he hopes to start shooting in early 2016. Brooks also made it clear, that he hoped to get the entirety of the original cast back for the sequel.

Personally, I would love to get excited at this news, and if this turns out to be true, I will be the first to admit I was completely wrong, but I have heard this all before. There have been so many rumours of a Spaceballs sequel for so long, that until the camera starts rolling; I refuse to get excited over it.

I genuinely hope that we will see a sequel in the coming years, and if it does happen, I will look forward to seeing it. However, in the meantime, I’m not going to hold my breath.
