It looks like Mel Gibson is back in a big way.
It seems that Gibson has signed on to update The Wild Bunch, one of the true classics under the Warner Bros umbrella.
The actor/director will direct Sam Peckinpah’s 1969 western epic and he will also co-write with Bryan Bagby and executive produce
“In The Wild Bunch, an aging group of outlaws look for one last big score as the traditional American West is disappearing around them and the industrial age is taking over. They are pursued by a posse led by a former partner they double crossed. Peckinpah wrote the script with Walon Green. The original starred Wiliam Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan, Edmond O’Brien, Warren Oates, Jaime Sanchez and Ben Johnson.”
Gibson is also prepping The Destroyer with Mark Wahlberg, starring in War Pigs along with Colin Farrel and word is he’s also getting ready to make a sequel to The Passion of the Christ.
Busy guy…
